I know much better than to play AGAINST John in Starcraft II. He'd eat me alive and spit me out. It's a flaw I'm trying to work out by way of practice and understanding. Doesn't always work out so well, though. When it comes to Board Games, I'm generally really good at the classics like Othello and Chinese Checkers. Backgammon not so much, though I have tried to get into it and I'm way too impatient for Chess or Checkers. I get destroyed in Checkers like you wouldn't believe. I also really like playing new board/card games with people just as inexperienced. The learning together becomes a bonding moment that I totally get behind and my disappointment at not winning loses a lot of its sting. The next one I try in 1v1 will be to create nothing but SCVs if it's Terran v Terran and Zerg Rush their base. LOL. Now that we've played eachother and he showed me some tips, I think we'll do better in co-op mode. I need to learn to lose gracefully otherwise raising children is going to be awful.
